Shadowbanning of Adult Games
As many of you might know already, the monopolistic behavior of payment processors have caused a major reaction from Itch.io which is even more severe than what happened with Steam. All adult games, both paid and free, are now shadowbanned from searches. This will obviously negatively impact the audience growth of adult games and many NSFW developers will likely see a good chunk of their income vanish.
Personally, I believe the majority of the blame for this wave of censorship lies with the payment processors, and Itch.io is simply doing a very harsh over-correction to preserve their platform. I think Itch.io will restore visibility to most adult games in time, but will impose new restrictions on paid (or maybe even free) games which contain controversial themes.
For years, Itch.io was one of the best platforms for indie developers to grow an audience and express their creative freedom, especially for NSFW games. The actions they've taken are a major blow to the trust developers had in them, and it will likely take a long time to recover that trust.
As for AnoMalOus, I will still be periodically releasing updates, but the recent news has caused me to reconsider some of my plans. The truth is, I like to work on a variety of smaller game projects in parallel instead of dedicating all my energy into one game. AnoMalOus is just the one project I have in the most presentable state right now.
I've spent years doing 3D modeling for fun and made many early game prototypes which never saw the light of day, but I've finally decided to take the risk and try releasing my own games to earn a living. To say that the news of Steam and Itch's censorship comes at a bad time for me is a massive understatement. Fortunately, I have a decent amount of savings to live off of from my previous job, so I'll be fine for a while.
I think the best option for me is to put more focus on creating SFW games on another account as a means to earn money and only use this account for unmonetized NSFW games, possibly with links to optional donations on another platform. This way, I'll have more freedom to create whatever NSFW stuff I want for fun without worrying about using it as an income source. Maybe this will change in the future, but for now there's no telling what will be banned next. When you give these guys an inch, they always take 100 miles.
Thanks for your continued support.

I also JUST released a NSFW game and the next day this shit happened. I wish there was a alternative site or at least a Discord server where people could post their projects.
I respect your decision, if you do open some sort of donation option, I am down to support as this honestly is one of the few games I am actively interested in. It's crazy that people think censorship is a good thing only in the case it hurts their feelings. It's pretty dystopian that we can have card companies choose what you can spend your own hard-earned money on, thanks to some assholes.
